BiotechTown proposes a model of environment and city relations, promoting connections for the development of an ecosystem of Biotechnology and Life Sciences.
BiotechTown is located in Nova Lima, metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, which was defined as the second Brazilian cluster of Biotechnology and Life Sciences.
Its infrastructure offers comfort and functionality, meeting the expectations of entrepreneurs, business partners and companies. However, it has no physical boundaries: BiotechTown meets several needs and solves problems by counting on its network of partners and contacts.
The large and modern headquarters is equipped with furnished private rooms, meeting and back-office rooms perfect for startups or already established companies that look for spaces of coworking, rental offices and auditoriums. BiotechTown also has a unit dedicated to meet laboratory needs, the OpenLab, in the implementation phase, as well as it provides access to partner laboratories (universities, research centers and companies). Also, under development is a Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) structure that will offer customized services for the development and validation of pilot batches and production of commercial batches.
To increase the ecosystem of connections of Brazilian companies with the global market, BiotechTown also develops initiatives that aim to attract international partnerships. A good example is the company Global Erba Mannheim – created in India and based in London for all international operations -, captured through the Soft Landing program and already part of BiotechTown.
